The “Two Lone Swordsman” project, photographed with products by the French-based designer Maxim, drew inspiration from the tactical details of the items. While defining the visual direction, Maxim’s balaclava evoked an image of fencing, and we structured the overall concept around the notion of “elasticity,” a core characteristic of the sport. The sequence comprises three parts: “Ready-Match-Score.”
In Ready, we captured still images to emphasize silent confrontation, depicting the athletes observing each other’s movements, conveying the tension before the match begins.
In Match, we highlighted “elasticity” by focusing on the speed and dynamism of fencing movements, underscoring the functional qualities of the product.
In Score, we captured the climax of the duel, the precise moment when the two figures cross swords, conveying the mixed emotions of victory and defeat as they score points.
Throughout the project, the contrast of black and white and sharp yet graceful poses evoke the aesthetic elements of the design. Each sequence aims to bridge the boundaries between fashion and sport, incorporating a cinematic sensibility that aligns with the tactical details of the products.
