"Late Businessman" is
The film "Late Businessman" drew inspiration from the financial crisis depicted
in the movie "The Big Short." In 2005, amidst the prosperity of Wall Street,
the project reflected the transition of financial industry professionals from a
relaxed state to urgency and pressure due to the financial crisis. The overall
filming employed frontal and profile shots to reduce depth perception,
increasing direct accessibility to the subjects. This approach aimed to create
a strong impression, sacrificing spatial sensation to simplify the portrayal of
subjects and focus more intensely on their characteristics.
Furthermore, as it was a film produced in the early 2000s, the project was
composed using archive products produced at that time. The vehicle was
selected as a classic car from Maserati , and careful consideration was given
to selecting shoes that would match the silhouette of the car. After
discovering the KUGELBLITZ produced by PUMA in 2004, it was possible
to harmoniously combine the silhouettes of the shoes and the vehicle. The
colors were unified with shades of indigo to convey a cool image.
Through this project, we aimed to bridge the gap between the past and
present, exploring various aspects of societa l change and delving into the
complexities faced by modern society. We hope that this project will help
in understanding the diverse issues and intricacies confronted by
contemporary society as we bring it to a close.
