"Blade Runner" is

Inspired by the futuristic yet dystopian aesthetic of the iconic film "Blade Runner", this project visualizes a reflection on humanity and artificial intelligence. Drawing from the film's motifs, we have chosen to design a modern interpretation of the coat worn by the character "K" in Blade Runner. The design deliberately strips away most of the detailing on the body of the coat, focusing instead on the distinct collar line and texture, which were prominent elements in the original film.

To bring out the coat's aesthetic appeal, we softened the lines connecting the collar to the ear area, infusing more curvature to create a visually pleasing form. Our intent was to merge Denis Villeneuve's cinematic style with the world of fashion, using it as a tool to visualize the film's portrayal of a morally ambiguous society. With "K" as our focal point, the two main themes guiding this creative direction were "anguish" and "shooting." We aimed to present a simple yet direct visual narrative, separating these two themes by employing both monochrome and a cold, blue-toned palette.

Given the constraints of a studio setting, where the ambiguity of the film's original background could not be replicated, we minimized distractions by concentrating on the subjects’ features. This approach heightened the emotional and characteristic expressions of the individuals involved, making their presence and feelings even more striking.
